Bio & Headshot

Well Hello there! If you've stumbled your way to this blog WELCOME! I'm a widwestern gal who is darn crafty. I love taking all kinds of pictures,  but taking funny ones of myself are my favourite. I am a t.v. and movie addict who can remeber all kinds of movie history, actors names, dates and trivia, however, I cannot seem to remember where I put my purse, keys and sometimes my children!

To learn more about me you can get a backstage tour by clicking on the different links and visiting the bio/headshot area.

We've got a date with...

The Mouse! Mickey that is!

This is the year of celebration.

The cast members will be asking us 1000 times " what are you celebrating this year"?

we are celebrating alot...

For me I will be celebrating the end to a very hard year.

The joy of having had a mother like mine.

 and Brad is cancer free.

There are so many things to be thankful for, but those are my top 3.

We are all looking forward to FUN!

Jeremy has been studying Walt Disney by watching his autobiography at least a dozen times, and memorizing the imagineers behind the scenes secrets.

We will have our very own tour guide.

It is still decorated for Christmas there, so we get an extra week of holiday festivities.

 I will be wearing these...

 and taking lots of these...

 This little guys coming too...

you can follow us on twitter.

I will be doing a where's Elphie kind of thing with twitter pics. You can check that out by pressing the twitter button under the bio area.

Also, I am currently working on a new blog.

I will still have this as a daily blog, but the 2nd one will be just for calendars and techniques.

I will be posting videos and my monthly calendar with how to's.

There will also be an area for everyone that is following along to upload their pages as well.

I use this calendar, the 12x12 black. If you have not heard Heidi Swapp is no longer designing for Advantas, so there are some deals to be had on her product line here as well.

I hope to have the blog up by the middle of the month.

Then every month there after I will post my idea by the 2nd to the last monday of the month.

So "save the date", it's going to be FUN!

I have so enjoyed meeting all of you and getting to know you through your blogs, your friendship and encouragement have been something I look forward to everyday.

Happy New Year everyone!

While I was away...

I had some brushes with fame.

On a recent trip to the Verizon store to upgrade my phone I ran into this woman...

This is Vicky from the Bravo tv show Real Housewives of Orange County.

I did a real double take of her and I know she knew I knew who she was. She seemed in a real bad mood about her phone or laptop issues, so I left her alone. I didn't have my camera with me nor my phone camera ,so I couldn't get a photo with her.

And what do you say to a reality star?

Gee,I really like you? Sounds kinda silly.

Then...

 this guy calls me!

 And he keeps calling me!

This story begins in my scrapbook room. I was reading some blogs when Brad walks in and says there's a phone call for you. I see it says Michael "Buble' is calling.

I don't know what to think.

The back story is I am a member of the Bungalow  Fan  Club or the Michael Buble' fan club.

He is going on tour with his new cd and I am constantly getting emails letting me know about fan club member tickets, events, etc.

I then forward these to Brad sending large hints that this would be an amazing gift opportunity!

So, when I see he's calling I start shaking and literally cannot answer the phone.

When I do answer...

Michael is not on the line!

 I've missed him!

I am panicking now when suddenly...

He calls again!

I answer again

and again ...

No Michael!

Brad is now cracking up and I realize this is a joke!

I don't know what is funnier...

the joke itself

or the fact that I actually thought Brad had somehow through some crazy connections got Michael Buble' to call me!

Apparently this new phone I have (a Droid) has this application called fake phone calls!

So he sent me a fake one from Michael!

My last brush with fame took place here...

Where I met her...

 The Donna Downey!

It was a wonderful Sunday afternoon. We gessoed, painted, watercolored, stamped and embossed.

This was an amazing class. Donna was so much funand FUNNY TOO!

The perfect kind of class for me... No measuring!

I'm a glue and go kinda girl.

Donna's a paint and go kinda gal. Just put a dollup of paint right on the canvas and get busy. Loved it!

I was so inspired I simply cannot wait to get back from vacation to finish my book and make some more art using some of the techniques I learned in her class.

I met an old friend and even made a new friend, Traci.

You can check out her cool vintage shop here on Etsy.

So sorry I was away so long, I never really meant to go...

I've been making alot of the convertables for orders, gifts, and Christmas outfit requests, including my own!

I am so excited that 3 convertables will be worn by the artists/ performers in this years Willow Creek Christmas services!

I also need some for vacation...

Two of them are a must for the location of my destination...

but more about that tomorrow!

She loves books

Books-

are alot like food...

some are dessert,

some are a good hearty piece of meat,

some are  like candy,

some are broccoli or brussel sprouts. (unless of course you like either of those)

I read alot last year,

I needed to escape.

These are the books that really stood out for me last year.

This made me laugh, Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris  he had me laughing out loud!

These made me cry-  90 minutes in Heaven and Heaven is Real

She  had me wishing  I was a teenager again

These made me go out  buy an eyelet dress and want to bake something with flowers in it.

This  is what I am reading right now. I am loving it. When I love a book I never want it to end, I tend to milk it, savoring it of it's every last drop.

If you have a reader or a friend on your list, this one would make a great gift.

You can check out more of my book selections on Good Reads.

Go sign up we can be book buddies.

For my birthday Brad bought me a nook.

I didn't ask for it i just happened to bring home the little paper copy of the nook and had it on the counter.  I brought it home because I thought it was a great marketing tool. He took it as a hint, so now I am anxiously awaiting it's arrival.

One of the features the nook has vs the kindle is you can borrow books to people.

So if you are getting a nook we could share nook books!

You may remember I recently took Lizzy's Mysteries of Me class.

I loved her pictures with the vintage books.

I also love Elsie's blog and her picture with book s.

So I had to try it too...

When I took these I never imagined I would resemble this guy...

I'll give you a hint... His best friend says

" When monkeys fly out of my butt, Yaah "

                              Definitely a resemblance.

You don't have to leave me nice comments telling me I'm wrong...

                              Cuz  "I'm not Worthy"

All I think there is left to say is ...

                               "asphinctersayswhat".

Glee

 I am a GLEEK!

I've been a Gleek of some sort all my life. In high school and to this day I am still a theatre geek.

If you were ever in choir, or theatre this is the show for you.

It has plenty of drama, angst, but is very funny as well.

I've just purchased the volume #2 of the Glee soundtrack. The shows glee club director,  Mr. Will creates these things called mash- ups where he tweaks current and classic songs together  combining them into great arrangement.

The harmonies are amazing, the talent is really astounding. Some of these kids have very little professional experience.

Rachel is my favorite character. She will soon be playing  opposite Idina Menzel. Idina is the original Elphaba in Wicked the musical.

Tomorrow night is the fall season finale. The show is on hiatis till American Idol is over in the spring.

So if you are not currently watching you have time to catch up!

The second soundtrack and the first season are currently on sale.

And now...... drum roll please....

My tribute to GLEEK -ISM!

(The first 3 songs on the soundtrack player are from the new Glee soundtrack vol.#2.)

You can go here and watch full episodes, read about the actors, see audition tapes and watch behind the scenes footage.

(Pause player if you want to hear this) Here's Lea Michele performing one of my favorite songs from the musical Les Miserables. < I'd love to know are you a GLEEK too? Who's your favorite and why?
