Bio & Headshot

Well Hello there! If you've stumbled your way to this blog WELCOME! I'm a widwestern gal who is darn crafty. I love taking all kinds of pictures,  but taking funny ones of myself are my favourite. I am a t.v. and movie addict who can remeber all kinds of movie history, actors names, dates and trivia, however, I cannot seem to remember where I put my purse, keys and sometimes my children!

To learn more about me you can get a backstage tour by clicking on the different links and visiting the bio/headshot area.

I got the music in me!

Music has always been my refuge.

Growing up I spent many hours alone in my room, singing to the mirror.

Nowadays, I sing alone...

but in my car!

As a teenager music and performing in musicals helped me to have an identity.

It gave me confidence.

Music can transport you.

Every song on the soundtrack of the blog has some sort of meaning for me.

Music can be the way someone expresses their feelings to someone.

Did you ever make a mixed tape for someone?

Or receive a mixed tape?

These days you can even use music in your greeting cards.

Do you have a certain songs that take you back in time?

Hearing  Donna Summer's Dim All the Lights and I am right back in my best friends bedroom,

sitting on her water bed watching her belt it out into a hairbrush.

Or Cheap Trick's I want you to Want Me and I see myself at the local pool

in a Loop t-shirt hanging with friends.

The Wanderer by Dell Shannon and  instantly  I see my mom dancing and singing to in the kitchen.

That is why I love Glee so much..

I love how they just burst into song, walking down the hallway.

Every song is matched so perfectly.

I don't know about you , but I think it would be kinda neat to see someone walking through the grocery store a pasta aisle singing That's Amore!

Very recently music helped me thrrough a really hard 6 months.

Every day on the way to the gym I listened to and sang music in my car.

I could fill my head with lyrics that helped to motivate and encourage me.

Which leads me to how I fell in love with spinning.

Once I got over the physical diffuculty of it,

I started to notice what an effect the music had on me as well.

The music sometimes made the difference between finishing a class or not.

Songs that when your legs are on fire you find the strength to keep on pushing.

Recently I have been asked to be a fill in instructor.

I LOVE IT!

The best part?

I get to make and choreograph my own spin playlist.

Spinning has also changed how I listen to music.

Now when listening to music I'm always thinking ... Is this song is spinnable?

Driving in the car the kids keep saying to me "Your doing it again".

Apparantly I am moving to the music in the car like I would on the bike.

As we head off into the weekend think about those days of mixed tapes.

What songs did you choose, which songs were chosen for you?

Grab your hairbrush

make a new playlist on your ipod

and turn up the volume

not on just the music

but life!

A little side note...

As I write this I can't help but think of the song lyrics...

How do you like me now?

Shawn my blog designer really hooked me up for Halloween,

I just love it!

Thanks Shawn!

LOVE this post!! LOVE IT LOVE IT!! And of course I feel the same way!

Right now my favorite get-up-and-go song... "If I Had You' by none other than... Adam Lambert of course! Try that one while spinning!! I have a girlfriend who runs and was about to give up when she still wanted to go another couple of miles... that song came on and like you, she said her feel just FLEW! ;-)

My mirror has been a great stage throughout the years, too. ;-)

Music is definitely the fuel of life...hearing an old song is like visiting an old friend. It takes you back to a memory and moment in time. No doubt!

So glad you're lovin' the new halloween look. :) Love how it turned out.

And I'm totally with ya on how powerful music is. I love all kinds but my favorite happy tunes right now would be Mike Posner's Cooler Than Me and Sugarland's Stuck Like Glue. Not normally much of a country music fan but seem to be on a Sugarland and Little Big Town kick this summer. Not sure they'd be good for spin but definitely great for singing solos in the car. :)

Oh my heck, music has always and will always be one of the biggest parts of my life! I can't imagine a day without it. I also have my favorites that inspire me to push through a workout or that get me through a tough or happy moment! As for music evoking memories...heck yeah and I love that part the best, the remembering it brings!

Have a great day and a fabulous birthday!

Blessings,
