Bio & Headshot

Well Hello there! If you've stumbled your way to this blog WELCOME! I'm a widwestern gal who is darn crafty. I love taking all kinds of pictures,  but taking funny ones of myself are my favourite. I am a t.v. and movie addict who can remeber all kinds of movie history, actors names, dates and trivia, however, I cannot seem to remember where I put my purse, keys and sometimes my children!

To learn more about me you can get a backstage tour by clicking on the different links and visiting the bio/headshot area.

restoration

Any time you go on a journey there is bound to be some baggage.

Over the last 10 months there have been emotions,

feelings, and truths that I have had to come to terms with.

Therapy is  a lot like unpacking after a long trip...

unpacking of emotions...

hurts, and anger...

thruths  that were long ago tucked away and forgotten ...

Fears spoken of that were paralyzing

Sometimes I could only handle a peek at truth

but, somewhere along the way

when all the luggage was empty

I started to see glimmers of an authentic self

My heart and mind began to feel restored.

I was no longer walking in the shadows of the past.

No longer trying to replace the irreplaceable.

Able to recognize what was unhealthy in my life.

Today I am carrying alot less baggage... literally

I have torn off my saftey patrol belt.

and

 I have found my voice.

My heart has begun to heal!

Soul restoration is off to a great start.

You may be thinking

If you've dealt with these things why are you going through this class?...

Well, this is always a hard time of year for me.

I am still in therapy, down to twice a month.

Like Melody Ross says...

You are here for a reason, you are right where you belong.

In therapy I have often been asked to put it all down on paper, write it all out.

That has been hard for me. I would much rather talk and talk and talk.... talk it death actually.

And that is where some of my work needs some re- packing, if you will.

I have some things that need to be put to a final rest.

Some places that have been visited, dealt with, and can now be packed away for good.

So, through the artwork and journaling I will be doing a final extraction.

Yesterday when I was taking pictures for this post I realized that the journal I had picked out fit perfectly into one of my suitcases...

I just love the texture of the cover and all the watercolor papers.

The book will not be a coffee table book.

It will be filled with alot of raw emotion and truth.

So, it is fitting that it would fit in the case.

Two more projects from this week..

This I just love....

No big stretch of ingenutiy here, for it looks just like my recent apron post

but,

You could make one of these to hold your daily truths.

What are daily truths?

They are FREE daily truths that you can sign up for and recieve in your email each morning.

Like this one, what a positive way to start your day...

Dear Unforgettable Girl,

Think about your favorite song, your favorite work of art, your favorite piece of clothing. This about the computer you are reading this from and the chair you are sitting on.

Someone, somewhere, at some time had a crazy idea. It was scary to tell others about it. It was scray to make that idea materialize and then to put it out into the world for others to see, use, enjoy -- and judge.

What if the person who wrote your favorite song stayed too afraid to share it? What if yyour favorite work of art stayed under the artist's bed and was never seen by another pair of eyes aside from her own?

YOU have a message. YOU have a mission. YOU have a purpose -- one that is unique to you and will never be able to be duplicated by another human being EVER.

In the beautiful words of Honorable Charles D. Gill:

"There are many wonderful things that will never be done if YOU do not do them"

The world needs you and your beautiful heart. Be brave. Share those parts of yourself.

You can do it. You are so loved.

XOXO

My "one little word" for 2011...

Not the jump out of airplanes kind of fearless.

The I have taken back my life kind of fear-less.

I have already begun this journey last year, and have made many changes in my life that have helped me to live my life.

Last year was all about the  "Climb"

That climb didn't last long.

I didn't climb

 I fell

 and

fell hard and deep.

But here I am one year later and after alot of hard work I am ready to start this year continuing on the this fearless path.

Not fearful of what tragedies, or problematic situations may arrive.

Not fearful of saying what I want and don't want.

Not fearful to believe in myself that I can accomplish the goals and dreams I still have.

I am living my own creation...

I want to be serene

and be free

I am my own champion

I have granted myself the power to begin...

 I am not afraid

of tomorrow

for I have seen yesterday...

and I love TODAY!

roller coasters

Roller coasters are not my thing. I have never enjoyed that feeling of being out of control and  plummeting to the earth at 100 mph. This is the kind of week I've had. That feeling of racing, racing, racing, and then the crash and burn. I am so looking forward to this weekend... although there will still be lots of activity I am going to go for a balance of some sorts....

Thought I'd share with you the wearable- art apron I made to wear during the trunk show.

Wish I could take credit for this genius idea... butt that goes to this lady .

Ella loves it so much I said she could have it to display in her room.

I have to place an order for more, they were so fun to make. Hobby Lobby sells canvas aprons as well, but Donnas have more style to them. The ruffle at the bottom and the pockets on the front. I am thinking about using some canvas triangle shaped pieces that Archivers sells for little banners. I'd like to decorate them and  then attach them to the apron with old clothes pins.

No sales... but you an hardly blame em. As I was standing there I got to thinking if I had just come from running or a spin class would i want to look in a mirror in bright daylight with a floral thinga ma jingy on my head?

I think not!

But I am so thankful for the opportunity, you live and learn. And now I am totally prepared for my Etsy shop, which I am happy to say is OPEN for business. I would never be this far if it weren't for Terri, so THANKS Terri! xoxox

and lastly...

Have you heard about Oprah's favorite things Chicken Pie?

Well she claims it is THE BEST CHICKEN PIE EVER!

I will say I was very thankful to have something in the freezer that I could just throw in the oven and bake, but BEST ?...

With a dash of salt and a sprinkle of pepper it was tasty. Brad and I both thought it needed the peas and carrots. It's called chicken pie not chicken pot pie... and I needed the pot .

Well... actually my tummy wanted the pot part, but my butt certainly didn't need it. There are 36 grams of fat and 810 calories per 1 cup slice!

That can be half your caloric intake and all your fat and more... for the day... in one meal!

So have at it Oprah...

I'll skip it and stick to spinning!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

a little preview

These are just a few of my new styles. I am going to be listing some repeats and a couple of new ribbon styles as well.

The names of each are missing as well as the headbands... still workin on those.

But some names are Marilyn, Carrie B.,Glee-ful, Enchanted, Purple Haze, and Sew Crafty...

if I can part with that one.

This is what I came up with as a display idea.

I bought this for Ella for her new bedroom...

she's not too pleased with me borrowing it.

I found it at Home Goods.

I'm going to use the old fashioned kind of laundry pins to clip the convertables to the form.

 and...

So there you have it.

I'll be back on Friday to show you pictures of the big day.
