It's Oscar time!
I love movies!
You probably already knew that, but if your new here then it's big news to you.
I also love the Oscars.
I've been seriously watching since high I was in high school.
Today the nominees were announced.
I still have a couple of movies to see, some of the lesser known ones, but I have until March 7th to get them all in.
My two favs to win in the best actor and actress category are Meryl Streep as Julia child. I've seen this 3 times and I find her performance more amazing each time.
George Clooney for Up in the Air, I loved this movie, not always a George fan, but I had to give it to him , he was terrific.
So....
I thought a little Oscar giveaway would be in order.
I am giving away this

The Wizard of Oz! Way Way Way ahead of its time.. and ooohhhh the sparkly red shoes! Im also terrified/fascinated of tornados... (when my husband and I were dating he lost everything he owned in a tornado). Its a great story with a warm message - There's no place like home!
It's gotta be Gone With the Wind - it's #1 of my top ten all-time faves!

Part Two: I forgot to include my reason for picking Gone with the WInd. It is a movie about strong women decades before the women's liberation movement. The transformation of Scarlett/Elizabeth Taylor from a spoiled rich girl to a true survivor was amazing. And the cinematography was state of the art at the time the movie was released.
Confession: I have never seen Breakfast at Tiffany's (shock!), so I would love to win the DV. I could wear the Convertable while I watch it!!

Grapes of Wrath, love Henry Fonda, but the story is one that always makes you appreciate how far we've come in this life. Such good acting, so believable It reminds me alot of some of the stories my mother told me of her childhood. One of poverty. Never having anythhing, or going anywhere.
Ok, Ill admit it too.. I've never seen Breakfast at Tiffany's either!
I love Audrey Hepburn she is one of my all time favorite actress". Of course I love Breakfast in Tiffany's, What a wonderful party idea, so much fun! Two of my other favorites have to do with Grace Kelly...Rear Window and Philadelphia Story. The Clothing in both films are just beautiful. I have all ready won so I just wanted to tell you my favorite's.
Oh...I LOVE that poster!! And your Audrey convertable too, but that goes without saying. I love so many old movies that it's hard for me to pick but because that posters got me thinking about Audrey Hepburn I'm gonna say Roman Holiday or Sabrina. I'm a sucker for a good makeover and love story!!
I absolutely adore Audrey and her classy style! I havce three different pictures of her in my house to include one huge canvas one from IKEA. I also have books about her and a couple movies. Breakfast at Tiffany's is truely my favorite that she is in! I love old movies! And how perfect is it that my favorite color is turquoise? Coincidence? I think not! I'd love to win this beautiful flower set! I would wear it so proudly!
