Well Hello there! If you've stumbled your way to this blog WELCOME! I'm a widwestern gal who is darn crafty. I love taking all kinds of pictures,  but taking funny ones of myself are my favourite. I am a t.v. and movie addict who can remeber all kinds of movie history, actors names, dates and trivia, however, I cannot seem to remember where I put my purse, keys and sometimes my children!

To learn more about me you can get a backstage tour by clicking on the different links and visiting the bio/headshot area.

It's Oscar time!

I love movies!

You probably already knew that, but if your new here then it's big news to you.

I also love the Oscars.

I've been seriously watching since high I was in high school.

Today  the nominees were announced.

I still have a couple of movies to see, some of the lesser known ones, but I have until March 7th to get them all in.

My two favs to win in the best actor and actress category are Meryl Streep  as Julia child. I've seen this 3 times and I find her performance more amazing each time.

George Clooney for Up in the Air, I loved this movie, not always a George fan, but I had to give it to him , he was terrific.

So....

I thought a little Oscar giveaway would be in order.

I am giving away this

and this

You may want to invite your friends over for an Audrey night.

Show the movie

Everyone wears a tiara, pearls, little black somethings.

So, leave me a comment on what your favorite old time ( 60's or older) movie is and why. The drawing will be held on Friday!

This is just one of my favorite scenes from the movie.

The Wizard of Oz! Way Way Way ahead of its time.. and ooohhhh the sparkly red shoes! Im also terrified/fascinated of tornados... (when my husband and I were dating he lost everything he owned in a tornado). Its a great story with a warm message - There's no place like home!

Part Two: I forgot to include my reason for picking Gone with the WInd. It is a movie about strong women decades before the women's liberation movement. The transformation of Scarlett/Elizabeth Taylor from a spoiled rich girl to a true survivor was amazing. And the cinematography was state of the art at the time the movie was released.

Confession: I have never seen Breakfast at Tiffany's (shock!), so I would love to win the DV. I could wear the Convertable while I watch it!!

Grapes of Wrath, love Henry Fonda, but the story is one that always makes you appreciate how far we've come in this life. Such good acting, so believable It reminds me alot of some of the stories my mother told me of her childhood. One of poverty. Never having anythhing, or going anywhere.

Oh...I LOVE that poster!! And your Audrey convertable too, but that goes without saying. I love so many old movies that it's hard for me to pick but because that posters got me thinking about Audrey Hepburn I'm gonna say Roman Holiday or Sabrina. I'm a sucker for a good makeover and love story!!
